Dr.
John Legleu is a native of Baton
Rouge having attended Catholic
High School and LSU. He
received a BS in Psychology in
1971 and completed his dental
education at the LSU School of
Dentistry in New Orleans.
After graduation in 1975 he
spent two years in the US Navy
Dental Corp continuing his
education with general
dentistry. Following completion
of his active duty he completed
his specialty residence in Periodontics at the University
of North Carolina in Chapel Hill
at which time he received his
Masters Degree. This work was
completed in 1979 and at that
time he began his practice in
Baton Rouge. In 1986 he was
recognized as a Diplomate
by the American Academy of
Periodontology. He
completed a comprehensive
Implant Training Program at the
prestigious Misch Implant Institute
in Detroit between 1986-1988.
During
his career he has been a
part-time instructor at the LSU
School of Dentistry in the
Department of Periodontics. In
addition he has held offices in
the East Baton Rouge Parish
Dental Association, The Greater
Baton Rouge Parish Dental
Association, the Southwest
Society of Periodontist as well
as the Louisiana Society of
Periodontists. He has
served as President of the
Louisiana Society of
Periodontists for two
years and recently completed a
five-year term on the Louisiana
State Board of Dentistry.
The last year of his State Board
Appointment he served as
President. In
addition to these offices he has
completed many hours of
continuing education to bring to
his patients the most effective
and current therapy available.
